201904181The1st Board of Director meeting was held on 18th of April at Abiko Civic Plaza (Meeting room 1).        (No. 19-2)
  Attendees: Directors: Kikuchi, Kimoto, Kurabe, Shibata, Shirato, Tanaka, Nakai, Niizuma, Noguchi, Hojyo, Hiraoka, Auditor: Yoneda
   AIRA Directors: Hesaka, Kitajima, Adachi, Nakamura,Uehara,Yoda, Sakatsume  Total 19 persons  (Titles omitted)
The members of the board discussed the agenda for the AIRA’s Annual General Assembly for FY 2019.  Ms. Kitajima,VP reported AIRA’s activities in FY2018, Mr. Yoda,Accountant reported settlement of accounts, Mr. Yoneda,Auditor reported the audit conclusion on financial details, and AIRA President Hesaki explained the business plan for FY 2019.  Nomination and replacement of 6 out of 29 directors was reported.
All agenda proposed for the meeting was approved and would be submitted to the coming Annual General Assembly Meeting on April 26th.
Then, all members said a word one after another at the end of the meeting. The followings were a couple of them.
Mr. Noguchi, Vice President of National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan thanked AIRA for having donated spoiled postcards to the organization.  The donation is spent on “World Terakoya Movement” (WTM), an international cooperation program for non-formal education. 
Mr. Hojyo, Secretary General of the Yamashina Institute for Ornithology reminisced about having planted a young tree of Japanese umbrella pine(*) in the yard of the laboratory wishing the new-born prince Hisahito’s health and happiness.
 
     (*) The Japanese umbrella-pine tree is the emblem to mark Prince Hisahito.
