20220206Leaders of AIRA foreign languages classes gathered to have a round-table meeting.(No.21-19)
Date and time: February 6th(Sun), 2022  14:00~15:15
Venue: Abiko Civic Plaza Meeting Room 1
Participants: Seven class leaders, Mr.Uehara (Director of Foreign Language Department), Mr. Hesaki (V.P.) and three office staff members
In 2021 a total of 20 foreign language classes are being held in the COVID-19 pandemic. Each class leader is obliged not only to reserve rooms for the class, but also to communicate with the lecturer and class members in order to manage the class. AIRA is making an effort to operate the classes smoothly by holding the leaders’ meeting every year.

The meeting was emceed by Mr.Uehara, Director of Foreign Language Dept.
Following a short speech by Mr.Hesaki, Vice President, each leader made a self-introduction and the discussion started. The main subjects were as follows;
1. The opening schedule of the foreign language classes 2022
・22 classes in total(8 English, 5 Chinese, 4 French, 3 Korean, 1 Spanish and 1 German)
・As for the English and Korean classes, a new class will be added respectively, and as for some classes, the opening date and time will be changed or the class name will be changed.
・Regarding the number of the students for each class, the capacity was shown till now, but this time, the minimum number of students required to open the class will be written.
・The information of the classes 2022 will be published in the March issue of AIRA Newsletter, the AIRA website and the April 1st issue of Abiko City Newsletter.
2. “Guidelines for Choosing Classes”
 Each leader is requested to inform AIRA if there are any changes in each guideline not later than the end of February.
3. Q&A (Requests from the leaders)
・There is no French class for beginners, so beginners who joined the elementary-level class find it hard to keep up with the class and leave. A beginners’ class will be needed
   ・The number of night classes should be increased for young working people.
   ・It would be desirable that AIRA secure the venues for the classes.
