The importance of Japanese education for foreigners is increasing because of the introduction of the new Residence Status for “Specific Skills”. Last June “Japanese Language Promotion Law” was passed and both the country and local governments are obliged to enhance Japanese education.
To begin with, Mr.Tetsuhiko Yamazaki, the emcee, mentioned
(1) 2,099 foreigners are now living in Abiko City and the ratio of foreigners is 1.6% (national average is 2% in June, 2019)
(2) the number of foreigners is increasing, which makes the role of the people engaged in Japanese language education more and more important
(3) they would learn in the lecture “how to teach benefactive expressions (give / receive expressions) and transitive / intransitive verbs”.
The lecturer Ms.Kaoru Nakauchi is now engaged in the Japanese education at “Japanese Class Toride”.
She said, “Consider what should be focused for the day, make the teaching plan and try your best to make your students understand.”  Also, she explained how to use benefactive expressions such as “~ WO AGERU, MORAU “ or “~ SHITE AGERU, ~ SHITE MORAU” and suggested proceeding step by step while confirming their understanding through drills such as “Repeating”, “Expressing in other words” and “Making one sentence by combining two”.  She recommended using pictures, too.
The lecture was very practical and finished successfully with favorable feedback from the participants.
