The year-end party was held and AIRA members looked back on the activities of the year together. This year many foreign students of Chuo Gakuin University joined, which made the party more delightful. (No.19-23)

The party began emceed by Ms.Xing Yan of AIRA Department of Cross-Cultural Activities.
AIRA President Mr. Hesaki talked about German Christmas in his speech. In Germany all family members gather to elebrate Christmas quietly.
Ms.Xing Yan introduced Chinese way of celebrating Christmas. In China it’s a festival for lovers, who give each other pples.
● Christmas in Chinese is called “Heian- Ping An” and “Ping Guo”(apple) is originated from “Ping An Guo”, which is a fruit Chinese people eat while making a wish. As such, a culture to give apples on Christmas was born.

Ms. Kazuko Ono, a supporting member of AIRA and the chairman of Abiko Tea Ceremony Federation, and Mr. Yasuharu Ko ( World Doll Museum) also made a speech.

The little sisters of Ms. Konuma’s family sang a Christmas song in English. Their singing was very cute and amused the people.
Mr.Yang Mingyu, who is called “Great Singer” in Chuo Gakuin University and had sung at “The 70th Anniversary of Foundation of China” held in Tokyo, sang a song in both Chinese and Japanese in a powerful voice while playing the guitar.
Mr. Wei Lai, an exchange student, played the music of Titanic and Christmas songs on the clarinet, the soft tone of which was very nice.
Three kids performed a dance to the song “Paprika”, which is a 2020 Tokyo Olympics supporting song. The audience gave them a big hand.
At the end of the party, they all sang in chorus “the Song of Abiko Citizens” composed by Kei Ogura led by Mr.Kawaji.
Following the thank-you speech by Director of Cross-Cultural Department Mr. Hayakawa, Vice President Mr. Murakoshi closed the party with the customary hand-clapping, “San-Bon Jime”.
The party was very lively full of various programs and all the people had a great time.
