AIRA received the Letter of Appreciation for its remarkable contribution to the promotion of Host Town exchange in Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic, though the games were held this summer. Mayor of Abiko gave it to AIRA representatives. (No.21-13)

Wome’s Judo and Men’s Taekwondo teams of the Republic of Slovenia had a pre-Olympic training camp in Abiko in July this year. AIRA dispatched interpreters to support the Olympians in response to the request of Abikio City, which contributed to the promotion of host town exchange event. Some organizations in Japan also received the award on the grounds of providing outstanding contribution to the Olympic by the the Minister of Olympic and Paralympic Games, MARUKAWA Tamayo, who praised their contribution in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games. The award was given to the organizations at an online ceremony on September 27.
Then on November 22 (Mon), Mayor of Abiko, Hoshino Jun-ichiro gave the letter of appreciation to AIRA members and the representaives of Abiko Seijinkai Hospital at the city municipal office.
Abiko Seijinka Hospital was awarded for their cooperation and advice to the athletes in case they were suffered by COVID-19 or other illness and got injured.
The AIRA was highly appreciated for sending interpreters at the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding between the Embassy of Slovenia and City of Abiko on May 26, for the pick-up and drop-off the athletes at the airport in July, and for supporting them during their stay in Abiko. Four out of the seven volunteer interpreters attended the ceremony.
