On the final day of the semester, all the students and teachers got together for a special lesson, which was conducted in three parts and facilitated by Mr. Shimizu.

1. Let’s Get to Know Each Other
The students introduced themselves by sharing their names, countries, hobbies, and families. They listened to each other carefully and wrote down what they heard.

2. Let’s Learn Japanese Accent
The teachers showed words that have the same sounds but different accents and meanings, such as Kami(paper, god, hair) and Hashi(chopsticks, bridge), and words that have similar pronunciations, such as Byoin (hospital) and Biyoin (beauty salon). They also learned accents through binary-choice questions.

3. Let’s Make Kaleidoscope with Origami
They created kaleidoscopes by assembling eight parts, which they made with Origami (folding paper). With the teachers' support, the students learned how to fold the paper by watching a video. They repeated turning their kaleidoscopes inside out and enjoyed the change of the patterns. They also looked into the cylindrical-shaped kaleidoscopes, turning them from side to side, and observed the intricate designs inside.
