AIRA holds the Japanese Teaching Course every two years for those who want to teach people whose mother language is not Japanese. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this course was mainly held online and the students attended almost all the lectures.
On this day, the last lecture was given and subsequently the completion ceremony was conducted in person.
Mr.Uehara, Director, emceed the ceremony. President Kitajima celebrated the students expressing her hope that they would make use of what they learned in the course and handed over the diploma to each student.
Mr. Nishikawa, Lecturer, commented as follows;
1. Many of the students seem to prefer to accumulate knowledge than to do volunteer work. However, in many cases, people feel happier when they can utilize their knowledge.
2. As the students here are well aware what kind of problems people from other countries have, they can support them by making use of their knowledge. This is globalization and it can be of assistance to non-Japanese living here.
Ms. YUASA Shiho expressed her appreciation on behalf of all the students. “We learned how to work as volunteers for six months. Thanks to the knowledge we gained and the classmates we studied together, we will be able to do volunteer work, and even if we don’t work as volunteers we can be friendly to people from overseas around us. We will keep the basics we learned in mind.”
After the ceremony there was an information session of AIRA Japanese Class.
