A party was held to deepen mutual exchange and friendship among AIRA members, and look back on the passing year. (No.23-17)
The outline of the party is as follows:
Date & time: Saturday, December 9, 2023 18:30-20:40
Venue: Multipurpose Hall, Abiko Civic Plaza (Abiko Shimin Plaza)
Participants: 35 persons
The party, held for the first time in four years, began with an opening address by Mr. Hayasaka, organizer’s representative, director of Exchange Committee. It was a frank and friendly gathering for AIRA members where alcohol beverages were welcome to be brought in and games and tricks were also welcome. Besides snacks and soft drinks, Cypriot wine "Fikardos", domestic whiskey, and desserts similar to Japanese “yubeshi” (also similar to Turkish “Lokum”) were brought in.
Following self-introductions by the participants, the entertainment began.
The song "Ruri-iro no Chikyuu" was sung a cappella by Ms. Watanabe, a student in the English conversation class. A song "Merry Christmas" by a Filipino, songs and dances by international students and children, and a Chinese version of the song "Toki no nagare ni mi wo makase" by foreign students. The song "Caminito" sung by learners at the Spanish Salon was also sung in Spanish. These performers made the event really international gathering.
There were many participants one after another, who were willing to perform, and it ended well past the scheduled time.
As the closing time of the Civic Plaza approached, the event came to an end with a lingering feeling of fun.
