Contribution to the Yamashina Institute for Ornithology
Venue: Yamashina Institute for Ornithology in Abiko City
Ms F. Kitajima and Mr. K. Murakoshi, both vice president of AIRA, on January 20 handed a modest contribution to Mr. M. Hojo, chief administrator in the Yamashina Institute for Ornithology. The amount was composed of proceeds of Ahodori Manju, albatross-branded sweets sold at the 24th AIRA Matsuri, together with voluntary subscription by AIRA members. AIRA has been donating certain amount of money to the institute in support of their far-reaching project to protect sharply decreasing albatrosses.
It has been observed that some chicks were born last January for the first time from the mother birds in Mukojima island in the Ogasawara-archipelago who had been relocated from Torishima island in the Izu-islands. (No.15-19 Translated by T. Sugano)
